Assistant Manager QA

Job description

As Assistant Manager QA you are part of the Quality Assurance department. Your direct reports are a Production Quality Engineer, Quality Systems Officer and a Quality Assurance Officer. As an Assistant Manager QA you are responsible for analysing production, process and quality data. You contribute to the improvement of quality of products and processes to such an extent that quality meets customer requirements.

You will work in dayshift and your direct reporting line is to the Manager QA.

This job consist out of several focus areas:

Improvement of Quality

  • Analyse production and process data;
  • Assessing root cause analyse regarding quality of product and consult with other departments such as technical service, engineering and production department;
  • Advise on improvement and optimization regarding current quality process, techniques, and quality measurement system to assure quality.

Defined quality incidents/customer complaints

  • Coordinating quality issues and representing the department during various meetings;
  • Reporting quality problems;
  • Analysing customer complaints/claims, also coming from TSE, and advising on solutions, formulating follow-up actions and implementing them after approval from manager;
  • Taking care of necessary studies and working out a research proposition. Coordinating and/or carrying out the research in case of complex problems or deviating testing methods;
  • Discussing research results, making/checking reports and explaining to TSE.

ISO 9001/IATF activities

  • Collaborate with Manager QA concerning function related ISO9001 standards/IATF activities;
  • Support implementation new ISO systems (9001);
  • Implementing and coordinating changes coming from new and existing ISO9001/IATF standards;
  • Facilitating, coordination external audits (ISO9001/IATF);
  • Preparation of audits and follow up on actions afterwards, draw up action plans;
  • Implement (changed) procedures and standards, inform team about changes;
  • Maintain contact with inspection authorities.


Besides above focus areas you are also managing your team in which you are responsible for planning the work and personnel, determining priorities. Evaluating achievements of the team and coordinating and supervising several activities in progress. Having performing and assessment interviews with the team. Monitoring the progress based on specified KPI’s and action plan. You will also replace the Manager QA during absence.


Job requirements

  • Educational background on bachelor level, relevant for this job;
  • Preferably experience with quality processes within a production environment;
  • Preferably experience within automotive and/or knowledge of ISO900 and IATF standards;
  • Good knowledge and command of MS Office;
  • Preferably good command of PowerBI and/or Sharepoint;
  • Good command of English language;
  • Experience in managing people;
