We were world’s first with combining sound and solar control technology, and still are industry leader in automotive interlayer films. We work closely with leading glass manufacturers to protect your car from noise and heat, accelerating the level of comfort and eco-friendliness.
Where possible, our technical engineers assist customers by finding solutions to increase production line efficiency.
Multi-layer and micro-particle technology
S-LEC™ Sound and Solar Film is a plastic layer inserted between sheets of PVB. Heat-insulating micro-particles are dispersed evenly within this multi layered structure. This enables the blocking of infrared (wavelength 1500-2100 nm) and ultraviolet rays, preventing skin irritation and extreme increase in car temperature.
Especially during the summer, windshields equipped with
S-LEC™ Sound and Solar Film can reduce up to 10 degrees on steering wheels compared to those under standard windshields.
Electromagnetic Wave Transmission
Today mobile communication is a necessity while driving. Standard heat reflecting glass with metal coating reflects radio waves, which makes it difficult for mobile phones and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) systems to receive waves. S-LEC™ Sound and Solar Film allows major radio waves of all frequencies to transmit through glass, while blocking harmful rays.
Customized design for electrical vehicles
In close cooperation with a leading producer of electric vehicles we developed unique S-LEC™ PVB Film with natural gradient shading, applied in the roof and front/rear window of 2 recent models. The gradual transition from transparent to tinted glazing perfectly fits the modern design of the electrical vehicles.
Minimize distraction with clear Head-Up Display images
Many 2019 launched premium- and mid-range vehicles use our Wedge-shaped S-LEC™ Film for clear performance of the Head-Up Display functionality. The appearance of double images belongs to the past. This is yet another invisible example where our technology truly supports in 'leading the way'!
European Research Centre at Brightlands Chemelot Campus
In 2017 SEKISUI S-Lec B.V. established its European Research Center (ERC) at Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittard-Geleen (the Netherlands). This landmarks a substantial boost for our technology evolution, product development, and global business in interlayer film for laminated glass, through the fusion of resources from SEKISUI and Brightlands.
S-LEC™ Sound and Solar Film brings peace and calmness to the interior of the car by significantly reducing noises coming through the glass from engine, tires, wind and rain.
S-LEC™ Sound and Solar Film prevents the increase of car temperature and keeps you comfortable regardless of scorching heat outside.
The higher the temperature, the more airconditioning we use. This puts burden on the fuel or energy level of your vehicle. S-LEC™ Sound and Solar Film helps reducing fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emission by decreasing overuse of air conditioners.
